Governance of the Wireless LAN Association
Executive Committee and Officers
The Association is overseen and managed by an Executive Committee consisting of the following Executive Officers:
- Vice President
- PR & Marketing Officer
- Operations Committee Chairperson
- Standards Committee Chairperson
The members of the Executive Committee are subject to election to their positions, every 3 years.
Along with the responsibility to manage the affairs of the Association, the Executive Committee also has the power to engage “Appointed Officers” who, although not subject to election, are retained and released at the will of the President and/or Executive Committee, and act under the direction of the President and/or Executive Committee.
Committees may be established by the Executive Committee to supplement its work and focus on the Association's areas of need.
Operations Committee (OC)
The Operations Committee is tasked with the day-to-day running of the Association, along with management of all aspects of membership.
The Operations Committee is to be led by an elected Chairperson, who will also serve as a member of the Executive Committee.
Appropriately-certified Members are, on a volunteer basis, encouraged to assist the OC in this mission.
Standards Committee (SC)
The Standards Committee is tasked with creation of the Best Practices Framework documents for the Association (a series of books named by colors: Transparent, Red, Blue, Green, White, etc.).
The Standards Committee is to be led by an elected Chairperson, who will also serve as a member of the Executive Committee.
Appropriately-certified Members are, on a volunteer basis, encouraged to assist the Standards Committee in this mission.
Local Chapters and Chapter Managers
At its discretion, Wireless LAN Association may establish Local Chapters to provide focus for regional groups.

Elections and Voting
The Wireless LAN Association elections shall be managed by its assigned officers.
All election information will be broadcast to the membership community, both at the General Assembly meeting, and through electronic media, prior to an election taking place. Voting is encouraged for all Association members.
